St. Michael Students Earn Band Recognition

Three students from St. Michael High School earned spots in the East Baton Rouge Parish Jazz Honor Band after their audition last Saturday. Congratulations to Trey Parker (first alto sax), Nathan Zeringue (first trombone), and Hector Barraza (second bass). These students will represent SMHS in a concert at the Manship Theater Friday, March 2.

Several band students will also take a trip this week to Most Blessed Sacrament to perform a master class for middle school band students.  SMHS band members will share their jazz improvisation skills on some seasonal Mardi Gras music.

Dr. Andry encourages his students to continue their music endeavors way past their high school careers. We are indeed very proud of senior trumpeter, Brianna Alumbaugh, who recently was awarded a $1,000 per semester scholarship to Northeastern Louisiana University.  Brianna will perform in several collegiate music ensembles, including the Demon Marching Band.
