Last Friday, the class of 2019 spent the day at Camp Istrouma for their senior retreat. The theme of the retreat was “No Fear in Love.”
As the theme states, the day focused on the virtue of love and how it has the power to bring all other virtues together. The retreat included games like movie charades, personal speeches referencing God’s love, small group reflections, mass, and adoration.
Campus Minister, Emily Froeba, said the retreat was a huge success for the class of 2019. “We’ve had the best feedback from this retreat,” she comments. “Hearing Mrs. Lee talk about her personal story of experiencing God’s love was really powerful. Mr. and Mrs. Baldridge had a great speech as well. Overall, I think all the students walked away feeling closer to God and their classmates.”
Many of the seniors commented that the retreat was one of their best experiences at St. Michael to date. Michael Hebert said the retreat was spiritual and heartwarming. “It was the perfect balance of activities and free time to reflect on God’s love and what it truly means to show love. The best part was ending on a good note, as a whole class, with adoration together.” The retreat concluded with mass said by Father Paul Ryan, and adoration as a group.
