Lexi Gonzales is only a freshman at St. Michael but she is already winning golf matches against seniors.
Lexi played in the first golf match of the 2018 high school season yesterday against U-High and St. Joseph’s. She took first place overall beating her next closest competitor by 5 strokes. Head coach Jeanne Kenney said Lexi played a great first game. “Lexi can really drive the ball down the course. Her t-off shot is outstanding.”
Lexi, who played a par 37 on a par 32 course, said she surprised herself with how well she played in her first high school game. “I didn’t go in expecting to win,” she said, “I was nervous at the beginning because I was playing against some good people, but the nerves faded after I took my first shot and the match went on.”
