SMHS “Mask”erade Auction Raises Record Funds

On the evening of Saturday, March 6 St. Michel High School held its annual auction fundraiser. The front parking of campus was transformed into a tailgate area with live music played by the SMHS Jazz Band and 80s cover band Werewolf. Guests enjoyed dinners from Bonefish Grill and had the opportunity to bid on over 60 silent auction items as well as 6 live auction items.

The themed “Mask”erade event raised over $35,000. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward new student desks, painting the school, and other facility upgrades. “This event would not have been possible without the help of our auction committee and the attendance of our wonderful guests,” says SMHS President Jack Nelson. “It is exciting to see people so committed to helping our school and students through this fundraiser, and we look forward to next year’s event.”

The event’s emcee was Hunter McCann ‘18 and sponsors for the event included: Ruffino’s, River Parish Physical Therapy and Wellness, HJT Properties, The Aesthetic Medicine and Anti-aging Clinic, Gage, Ascension Dental, Coleman Roofing, Peters Wealth Advisors LLC, MW Drapery Design, Manda Fine Meats, Healthremede, United Rental, Bonefish Grill, and Coca-Cola. And as always, a huge thank you to our auction committee for their help with planning, set up, and procurement.
