A Very Different School Year

The St. Michael community is embracing our theme for the year The Strength of a Warrior. We recognize that our
strength flows from the strength of our ultimate Warrior, Jesus Christ. All of our preparations to return to school safely are paying off in big ways. Students are able to come to school and interact with their teachers and their classmates. This face-to-face classroom instruction is proving to be of great benefit to the learning environment.

Our faculty, staff and administration renew our commitment to partner with parents to form our young men and young women as committed disciples of Christ. Here at St. Michael High School, we act in conjunction with the Catholic Church to challenge our students to grow into the people that God calls them to be. We look forward to a year filled with growth, challenges, and many opportunities.

I hope you have had an opportunity to view our Back to School Night videos. There is still time to get to know your
child’s teachers. Please get a copy of his/her schedule with teacher names and click here. Go to each department for your child’s classes and find the teacher. Please email the teacher if you have any questions about the class. There are also important messages from the Home and School and the Warrior Club, our two parent organizations. The St. Michael Advisory Board is made up of volunteers, some elected and some appointed, who meet five times a year on behalf of the school. The purpose of the Board is to advise and support the administration of St. Michael
High School as it seeks to carry out its mission of forming its students spiritually, intellectually, and personally. The
Advisory Board is pleased to welcome two new members appointed by the Bishop, Mr. Fred Crifasi, the parent of
three St. Michael alums, and Mrs. Dena Balart, an alumna herself and the mother of three current SMHS students. We look forward to their sharing of their gifts and talents as they join our Advisory Board.

As we continue to navigate the challenges of this year, we look for opportunities to be grateful for the blessings that we have. Our new faculty and staff recognition program, an Attitude of Gratitude: Going Above and Beyond, will identify and recognize the unsung heroes among our faculty and staff who go above and beyond in fulfilling our school’s mission and vision. Once a month, a faculty or staff member, either individually or as a group, will be recognized for going Above and Beyond. Nominations will come from students, parents and colleagues so that all may have a voice in the process. Please use this link anytime during the year if you would like to nominate a teacher or staff member for going Above and Beyond.
Thank you for entrusting your child to St. Michael High School.

Blessings,
Ellen B. Lee, Principal
