St. Michael High School hosted its 30th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, December 3 at the Greystone Country Club. A record number of more than 160 golfers including alumni came together to raise more than $80,000 to benefit the Warrior Athletic Department.
The three-person scramble included gumbo by Geaux Roofing, pastalaya by Assurance Financial, and hamburgers by PODs, as well as beverages by Coca-Cola and Crescent Crown Distributors. Participants also received a Dri-fit polo, a stainless steel St. Michael tumbler, as well as opportunities to win many great prizes throughout the day.
Placing first with a low gross score of 54 were Matt Thrower, Zach Kinsley, and Jonathan Carbo. The first place low net team with a final score of 58 was an alumni team made up of Shane Ortego and Lathan Hamn. Longest drive was awarded to Joel Wax and closest to the pin was awarded to Jeff Wiggins.
Special thanks to our major sponsors: Assurance Financial, The Fruge’ Law Firm, Blake Cash with Bob’s Painting, Chris Yancey with Coleman Roofing, American Controls Technology, Raygen Services, Kevin Bowen with Bowen Companies, Garner Ridge Partners, Arthur J Gallagher, Danny Coleman with Amrad, and Tommy Foil with N2N Communications. In addition, the event would not have been possible without the many parent and faculty volunteers and the help of Greystone Country Club.
