Support the growth and development of St. Michael High School by making a contribution to the Capital Campaign.
Capital Campaign Q & A
The purpose of this campaign is to provide financing for Phase I of the school’s Master Plan. The Master Plan is the result of three years of gathering information on the needs of the school from all stakeholder groups and of planning for continued success in meeting the needs of our students.
Everyone who has walked and will walk through the doors of St. Michael High school today and for decades and centuries to come. The Continuing the Warrior Legacy campaign will ensure that this school that was once a mere vision in the early ’80s will continue to thrive and build a tradition of excellence for the many Warrior legacies to come.
The Institute of School and Parish Development (ISPD) conducted an attitudinal and financial feasibility study in early 2013 and concluded that the environment is favorable to launch a comprehensive capital campaign over a three-year period contingent upon the necessary leadership, organization, and support.
The Administration and Advisory Board decided to move forward with the campaign with the approval of the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
The estimated cost for construction is $6 million and includes:
- Multipurpose Building – Black Box theater, auditorium, gymnasium with band room and storage, locker rooms, prep kitchen, concessions, restrooms, storage area and lobby connecting existing gym and new building.
- Student Access-way Covered Walk – facilitate multiple ways to move from one side of campus to the other.
- Parking and Paving – replacement of 62 spaces plus paving of 100 additional spaces, paving of gravel lots.
- Bus and Vehicular Drop-Offs.
In order for the vision to become a reality, everyone invested in the future of St. Michael High School and in the welfare of the Baton Rouge community is invited to participate, including St. Michael families, businesses, alumni, parents of graduates, grandparents, and other supporters of St. Michael.
