RED RIBBON WEEK: During the week of October 29-November 2,
the SADD club will be sponsoring Red Ribbon Week on campus. This
week will feature activities to raise students’ awareness on issues of impaired
& distracted driving and alcohol & drug abuse. In addition to school
-wide daily announcements and prayers encouraging good decision making,
below is a list of activities that will take place that week:
Monday, 10/29: The Law and Drugs In social studies classes, teachers
will facilitate a brief discussion for students to better understand the legal
consequences of illegal drug use, underage drinking, and/or drinking and
driving under the influence. Red Ribbon Week wrist bands will be passed
out to wear.
Tuesday, 10/30: Stick Together & Stay Sober Students will pledge to
make good decisions by signing a banner during lunch period that says
“Stick Together & Stay Sober”. Stickers will be given to those that take the
Wednesday, 10/31: Say “Boo” to Drugs and Alcohol Students will wear
school appropriate Halloween costumes and will “Trick or Treat with the
Counselors”. Students will visit the counselors during lunch shifts to receive
a sweet treat.
Thursday, 11/1: We CAN stay drug-free Students are asked to bring in
canned items to donate to the foodbank. Students who donate will receive a
“treat” for bringing in food.
Friday, 11/2: Too Bright for Drugs Students wear a neon shirt with
uniform pants and tennis shoes. Drug/Alcohol statistics will be posted
around school and in classrooms on neon paper.
