What is SWAT?
SWAT, Students Working to Advance Technology, is an organization that was founded to promote the use of technology in schools nationwide. SWAT is a program that helps its members learn about technology while also teaching good moral lessons, such as giving to the less fortunate. Anyone is allowed to join SWAT and is indeed encouraged to do so. SWAT will raise competency in the field of Technology. SWAT at St. Michael High School is moderated by Coach Drew Hart.
What service does SWAT provide:
1. Assist in providing technical support for the entire school.
2. Builds computers and donates them to less fortunate schools.
3. Teaches its members about the newest technologies.
4. Provides application training to the student body.
5. Acts as a resource to teachers experiencing in class technical issues.
6. Provides information on future technologies to assist in the following school year technology budget.
SWAT meeting information
SWAT will meet every Thursday morning prior to school at 6:50 in the Tech Lab. These will be informal meetings to discuss relevant topics. If you are interested in becoming a member just drop by the lab one morning or e-mail Coach Hart at dhart@smhsbr.org
