The purpose of this website is to pass this information along to those parents who may be interested in learning more about these educational opportunities for students. Northwestern State University
Advance Program
"Advance is one of five collaborative efforts with Duke University's Talent Identification Program (TIP)." Advance is a three-week program hosted at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA for gifted and talented students entering grades 8-12. Courses for 2010 may include:

LSU Center for Computation & Technology
Beowulf Boot Camp will be held June 14-18, 2010 on the LSU campus.
Students will have an opportunity to work with Professor Thomas Sterling, a former NASA scientist who invented the Beowulf supercomputer cluster. Students and university researchers will work hands-on with high performance computing technology.
Cost: The camp is no-cost, although traveling expenses are the responsibility of participants.

The Millsaps International Experience
A 10-day summer program for rising high school seniors designed to cultivate cultural awareness and understanding of developing countries. Students will spend four nights at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS; five nights at the Millsaps College Yucatan campus in Merida, Mexico; one night at Millsaps College's 4000-acre bio-cultural reserve, Kaxil Kiuic.
