On a muddy and windy day, St. Michael boys beat a very competitive Ruston team for the 4A State Championship in Cross Country. The St. Michael girls beat a very talented Benton team for 2nd place behind winner Ruston. Both teams ran their best races of the year and showed the state once again that all state trophies come through St. Michael.

Olivia Flaggert, Grant Dietrich and Robbie Tanner were top 10 finishers and were selected All-State. Grant Dietrich was also selected Composite All-State for being one of the top 25 finishers
among all CC runners in La.

After a season of way too many rainy practices and races and numerous sicknesses and injuries, both teams were healthy enough to compete at the highest levels at the state race. Although graduating some top 5 runners, we expect to field 2 quality and experienced teams next year.
