St. Michael 2012 Boys’ CC team ties for 3rd at State Championships! Despite never beating St. Thomas More and/or Archbishop Shaw during 8 meets over the last 2 years, the SMHS Boys’ CC team ran an incredible state championship meet on Nov. 13, 2012 and tied for 3rd with STM. Benton won the title with Shaw as runner up. All 7 starters (Ryan White, Dominic Segura, Cody Burdette, Brady Savoy, Andrew Hotstream, Cody Pate and Brett Waguespack) ran career PRs at the championship meet, an amazing accomplishment. Ryan White placed 6th and was named to the All-State 4A CC team. Eventually, Ryan was named as Honorable Mention on the EBR All Metro CC team. The boys’ team finished the season ranked 12th of all 5A, 4A and 3A teams in La. for 2012. With Shaw moving to 5A next season, SMHS boys look to improve their finish in CC at the state championships in 2013.
